Emergencies

In some circumstances there will be an urgent need to protect yourself or your children against an imminent threat to your safety, especially in the face of violence from a spouse or partner. We can assist in the presentation of any injunctive claim before the courts, and routinely deal with such applications.

Normally a member or former member of your household unit will be the subject of the injunction. The most often applied for type of injunction is the non-molestation order, which prevents a former member of your household from making threats or seeking to carry those threats out. These injunctions can also incorporate an arrest provision, and will be lodged at local police stations where such a provision exists. A residency order ensures that your children reside with you at a particular address, and this can also prevent removal from that address. A prohibited steps order can prevent certain acts from occurring, including the removal of a child from the jurisdiction.
